Town Message Board, Bad Drivers
Caught (below)...

Clicking on the board
just above will take you to our town message board, where you can leave a
message that is updated instantly for others to read. Lost or found pets,
yard sale notices, vents, and more. Messages with offensive language, or
that are slanderous, will be removed. This board is *NOT* to advertise for
businesses - you must take advantage of our ad services for that (see the Business
page). When done at the message board, click your browser's
"Back" button to return here, or click on the words "Powder
Springs" at the top of the main page of the board.
Please note: We use a third party
service for the message board. As a result, we have no control over
advertising they use on the boards, and they do use "pop up"
ads. You may have a pop up blocker that works to block them, or it may
not, but we suggest that you do NOT click on the ads when they pop up.
Some of them are designed to look like Windows error windows to get you to click
them, so they can target you for advertisements. Just go to the bottom of
your brower/screen, find the small tab that pops up when they appear, RIGHT
CLICK on it, and select "close". This will safely close it
without risk of making you look at their ads. Sorry for the inconvenience,
but this is a nonprofit site, and this is the only free service we can use at
this time in order to offer locals a message board of some sort.
Thanks, and have
fun!

Crappy Drivers... Beware!
First, a lesson. Need a refresher on what THIS means?

Here's a hint folks... this is a handicapped
symbol. This is usually on the ground, or on a sign in a parking spot that
is for handicapped people only. Not for those running a quick errand into
a store or dry cleaner, and not for those with kids (kids don't qualify you as
handicapped), and not for those who simply want to park closer to the
door. Got it? Doubt it, but if you do, then good.
|

|
It's really sad when middle-aged men
feel they MUST zip around in cars that it takes them 10 minutes to get in
and out of, just to make up for lost youth. But what's even more
sad? When they have their young kid (or perhaps grandkid) in the
car, and speed, tailgate, and cut in front of other cars quickly in and
out of traffic. Way to go, dad! Great lessons to teach the
teen in the car who's about to get a license and get out on our
roads! Woohoo - mid life crisis at it's best. |
|

|
What else can be said but - GEEZ.
If this were like, the Batmobile or something we could see the logic - but
do we really care if this car gets scratched up by people who park next to
it ??
|
|

|
A Note To Compton Elementary Moms...
It's generally NOT a good idea to use the
entrance turn lane as a PARKING SPOT to pick up your kids... much less
allow the rear of your car to stick out into the southbound traffic lane
of New Macland during rush hour. DUH.. you wanna kill your
kids?? (We see this a lot).
|
|

|
And what do we have here? No.. can it
be?? Someone running the red light at Richard Sailors and Highway
278?? Nooooooooooooo it's impossible! (rolling eyes).
We could probably devote an entire SITE to the number of people who do
this every day. Helllooooooo Cobb County! Red Light
Cameraaaaaaaa! |
|

|
12/14/06
For the Legislatures who are trying to put a stop
to red light cams - you need to take your heads out of your asses and hang
out at the Richard Sailors/278 intersection for a day. This guy like
SO MANY, thinks the pretty red light is a holiday decoration. He
brakes just in time to avoid slamming into 278 traffic just taking
off, and he STILL ran the light as soon as he got a break in the traffic. |

|
|

|
12/04/06
Exit behind Wachovia is as we've said before,
"Right Turn only", indicated by the large right only arrow on
the ground, and the exit curving to the right. This guy well -
he's above that. As do about 20% of the people who leave this
center, he makes an illegal left turn out of there against heavy traffic,
causing at least one person to hit the brakes. If the local police
were to simply have an officer parked here all day long they'd probably
make enough on tickets to pay for a new park or something.
|
|

|
11/30/06
Darn - blurry! Oh well. This was a
40-something Middle-Eastern male who parked in the "No Parking"
area of the Publix shopping center, blocking outgoing traffic, so he could
go and ship a package. Inside the store which has signs that say
"no cell phone use in store", he was of course, using his cell
phone, having a meeting, and laying out the contents of his briefcase on
their counter to have that cell phone meeting, all while others waited in
line. Some people I do believe LIVE to be rude. He wins the
crown for the year. |
|

|
11/15/06
Well.. "Galoski" here needs to learn a
couple of things, but the idea is that on dark, cloudy days where it is
raining heavily, it is generally NOT a good idea to drive around over the
speed limit, in a dark car, with your lights OFF. We watched this
person tailgate, speed, etc etc in a downpour with no lights. Their
turn signal is what's on here - they break all the other rules but use a
turn signal?? SIGH. |
|

|
11/6/06
Can you guess what we have here? Why yes...
a red light runner on Richard Sailors and 278!
For the record, for each one of these we actually
post, there are maybe 8-10 we see but don't capture with the camera, or
don't post simply due to space reasons on the site. DOT - either
just take the lights down, or put a camera up please! Who's gotta
die first before something is done?
|
|

|

|
8/24/06
Yep - a red light runner at Richard Sailors and
278. Only this one almost paid for it with her LIFE. Note that
she started to run the light with heavy traffic on 278 coming
Westbound. She almost ran smack into a tractor trailer doing about
65mph, too! She slammed on her breaks, and narrowly missed being a
statistic. NO turn means NO TURN people! |

This was submitted to us from a viewer of this
site.
Ok, let's toss political correctness aside for a
moment. Two black males are seen driving through the Publix parking
lot at a high rate of speed (like 45-50 *IN* the parking lot). They
go up and down several of the parking lanes, as though "looking
around" for something other than a parking spot. They exit onto
New Macland, then come back, then drive around the parking lot some
more. They then park their car in the lot that is next to but not in
the Wachovia Bank lot. One male exits and walks into the bank,
loooking around back and forth numerous times as though nervous. The
passenger stays in the car and slides wayyyy down so his face can't be
seen. GEEZ!
The person who submitted this said they did
inform police of this suspicious activity, though we never received a
followup from them as to if these guys were up to anything or not.
Moral of story... 1) don't drive through parking lots at 45mph!!!
and 2) When entering banks, don't look around like you're about to
try crap. Gawd. |
|

|
8/11/06
Another delivery truck that thinks the "No
turn on red" sign at Richard Sailors and Hwy. 278 is just there as
decoration. He ran the light anyway. And yes, we let his
company know.
D.O.T........ we need a red light camera
hereeeeeeeeeee

One of MANY drivers each and every day who
illegally make a left turn from a right-turn-only lane, behind Wachovia
Bank in the Publix Shopping center at New Macland. The lane has a
LARGE right-only arrow painted on it, and it curves to the right to steer
people to the right as well. What do about 25% of the people exiting
this center do? They make LEFT turns.
This exit was designed this way for a
reason. There is heavy traffic from various sources flowing over
this spot, and during rush hours, it's VERY dangerous as it is - adding
illegal lefts to it only increases the dangers. People people
people... stop acting like you were born in Alabama and obey the law.
|
|

|
9/17/06
Just as speeders represent a danger on our roads,
also do those who drive too SLOWLY. Here is an older couple who were
in a 45mph speed zone... drive 20 miles per hour! Now if you're on a
multi-lane road, fine, do the senile old fart routine if you want - but on
two lane roads, you cause people to try to pass you, creating dangers on
the road. If you can't maintain the speed limit, it's time to hand
over those keys to the kiddies and get a ride. Sorry, sounds cruel,
but 94 year olds on the roads are just as dangerous as a bunch of 16 year
old drivers. |
 |
6/29/06
And our monthly reminder... when the signs say
"No parking, fire lane" in front of the businesses - it means..
can you guess? NO PARKING. This is yet another person who
thinks that their dirty laundry makes them except, so they park in the
posted fire lane to drop off their dirty duds - all the while during a
busy rush hour, while cars coming and going in and out of the center have
to weave around their parked car, creating a danger to them and
pedestrians. Way to go selfish butt-wad!
|
|

|
6/27/06
Parents, please KNOW what your kids are doing in
the family cars. This teen was driving close to 20mph OVER the
speed limit on Richard Sailor's Parkway - and didn't look like he was
paying much attention to the road, either. Paulding tags.
|
|

|
6/16/06
Yes, it's a PINK dump truck. They work in
the Powder Springs Industrial Park. Hey guy - try not to run wayyyyy
over the speed limit, as well as following cars too closely in these
things !! |
|

|
5/16/06
Well dammit, we need a better camera so we stop
missing these tags.
Ok, so we're at Shipp Road waiting to turn onto Old
Lost Mountain, and this chick speeds by in her SUV, getting right up to
the rear of a school bus before slowing down. Female, late 30s early
40s (?), short blond hair and glasses, talking on a cell phone, while
exceeding the speed limit, AND, following too closely behind a school bus,
too! Wow - poster child for, "How to do everything you're not
supposed to do while driving".
In this shot, the bus veered off to make a left
while she continued, but our guess is that at one point going down Old
Lost Mountain, she was within 12 inches of the back of the bus (all while
making sure she stayed on her cell call, mind you).
|
|

|
5/9/06
Too far to get a tag number, darn it. But this is
an example of one of MANY idiots we see each and every day who run the red
light at the right turn lanes of Richard Sailors and Highway 278.
When will Cobb DOT get some brains and put in a red light camera at that
intersection? They'll make a F O R T U N E
$$ writing tickets. Note to idiots --- "No turn on
red" means.. guess what? NO TURN ON RED.
|
|

|
5/01/06
Wow - with semi truckers like THIS on the roads in
Atlanta, it's no wonder there are accidents involving trucks every
day. This guy was on Richard Sailors Parkway, running up on the
sidewalk once. He turns onto Highway 278 going North, nearly running
off the road twice, and crossing the center line of his lane once as
well. We followed him into the Powder Springs Industrial Park, where
he once again nearly ran off the road. Black male mid-30s. And
yes, we did call Old Dominion and report him (they were thankful).
|
 |
9/30/05
Ok, we know it seems like we're picking on blond
women and we SWEAR we're not trying to... BUT... You know the
shopping center exit behind Wachovia at Publix? The one that is
RIGHT TURN ONLY, that you know, turns to the RIGHT and has a RIGHT arrow
painted on the ground to let you know it's a RIGHT TURN ONLY?
30-40 something blond female apparently thought the arrow was a Christmas
decoration - like so many others, makes an illegal turn LEFT out of this
exit, against quite heavy traffic, then continues down Richard Sailors
onto Old Lost Mountain. The right hand turn only is
there for a SAFETY reason, Maliboo Barbie - please learn the difference
from right and left. Oh how we would LOVE to see the
Powder Springs police set up a permanent officer just to write tickets at
this one exit - they'd make a fortune !!
|
 |
9/22/05
Ahhhh.. here we go - one of our favorites.
Forty-ish blond woman loads up the groceries, looks around carefully to
make sure no one can see her, then leaves her Publix buggy right in the
middle of parking spots on a slope where they can damage other cars.
WONDERFUL example of considerate human behavior. Hey lady -
note that your butt (not pictured here) would not be so incredibly large
if you took the time to walk those few extra steps to return the buggy to
the return area or the front door of the store! Also note that after
you sped away with your doughnuts, the buggy scooted down to a car only a
few feet away and bumped into the guy's car door. We were happily
going to provide him with her license number from this photo, but he sped
away before we could get to him. Lucky gal!
Update: 10/06: We
got an email from selfish big-butt lady. She actually tried to pin
off her behavior on her having kids. Wanna see "Jennifer"
put her foot in her mouth (and the replies?). Read up on it HERE
on our message board.

 |
Is there some LAW that says people who drive Jeeps
have to drive like buttholes??
Usual redneck NASCAR wannabe - speeding, zigzagging
through the cars, and tailgating at high speeds. One woman in front
of him kept tapping on her breaks to give him the "hint", but
instead he just got to about 2 inches behind her and acted like she was
keeping him from a date. DUH! Drive like this bubba, and
you won't get dates.
|
|

|
Wow,
for the first time in my life I was tempted to just slowly drive forward
and push someone's car out of the way! This women (black female,
mid-30s) drove up into the drive-thru window at a local bank. She
looked in her rearview mirror and SAW that there was a line of cars behind
her waiting. She starts to write something.. write some more...
looks in her front compartment... writes some more... looks up again,
smirks, writes some more.... Oh my god, she sat there at the
"tube" for NINE MINUTES writing stuff with a whole row of people
behind her waiting !!!
Most of us were trapped due to so many cars
surrounding us and could go no where. Lady, and you know who you
are... better knock that HUGE chip off your shoulder and learn how to
respect others, cause you win the golden bit...er... "witch"
award for the YEAR on this site.
To her parents - YOU FAILED. |
 |
A GREAT example of parents teaching their kids the
wrong lessons. "Dad" (caucasian male, balding with
"comb over", seen on right), puts his daughter in
the back seat and straps her in. Instead of putting his Publix
shopping cart away in the cart area which was only steps away, he stops,
looks around in each direction to make sure no one can see him do what
he's about to do... then eases the cart to the side of his car and leaves
it there. This way not only can he block a parking spot on a
busy day, but he can also put a dent or scratch on other cars around it if
it starts to roll. WAY TO GO, DADDY !!!
Let's hope the kid grows up with a better sense of
personal responsibility than pops has (or better yet, let's hope HIS car
needs a $500 paint job because of a rolling cart some day... you know..
"do unto others" and all that).

And Yet Another Road Sign Lesson

This, boys & girls, is a NO
LEFT TURN sign
The sign above WAS located in the Publix
Shopping Center parking lot, across the street from Walgreens, and next to First
Union Bank, before it was knocked down. It is where you exit the parking lot to enter New Macland
Road. There is still a very large white right-arrow on the ground, and the
concrete curves to the right because why? It's a RIGHT only turn. What do you see boys and girls doing about once every
five minutes or so here however? Making LEFT turns onto New Macland.
We've almost seen a couple of accidents
happen because of this, and it's just a matter of time before someone gets
killed because some lazy slob can't turn out of the center in another LEGAL
area. There's a reason you're not supposed to make lefts at this
spot. Duh - you think cause it might be dangerous? Here's two for
the hall of fame, both of whom made this illegal left turn within
three minutes of one another:
Ford
Explorer, green, tag# 280 W**. Didn't even slow down long
enough to see the "NO LEFT" sign, and zipped right on out making
a left, anyway. Well, they're stupid and unsafe cars anyway, so
might as well be driven by an idiot driver.
|
A
greenish Honda, maybe? We didn't get the make of the car, as we were
too focused on the driver. Middle aged guy driving this one with
dealer tags, tag# UL 2303*. Boy, bet the dealer would LOVE to
know this one was breaking a law while driving the car.
